As part of Accentuate, Dada-South will be delivering a series of showcasing opportunities for disabled and Deaf artists in and around the south east

Despite a thriving and vibrant Disability and Deaf Arts sector, the talents of many disabled and Deaf artists have remained relatively hidden from the wider public view.

Since its inception, Dada-South has been advocating and heralding the work of disabled and Deaf artists, supporting them to achieve recognition and notoriety.

The south east has blossomed and now boasts a rich and diverse portfolio of disabled and Deaf artists creating quality and extraordinary work with a contemporary and progressive edge. Disabled and Deaf artists are beginning to gain the recognition, support and most importantly, investment that they deserve.

Early in 2010 Dada-South will be launching a new showcasing programme that will present the work of disabled and Deaf artists in a series of events, festivals and showcases happening around the south east.

This programme will demonstrate the confidence and competence that prevails within the disability and cultural sector and will provide programmers, venue managers and audiences with the opportunity to indulge in great quality arts experiences that not only challenge them, but intrigue, inspire and captivate them and their audiences.

This programme will infiltrate existing arts infrastructures to ensure that disabled and Deaf people's creative achievements achieve the attention and accolade they deserve.
