The 7 Steps to Self Employment/Business Start-up
This guide aims to help disabled artists understand the main stages of becoming self-employed. You can use this information to assist either in setting up a business or working as a freelancer on a full-time or occasional basis.
The 7 Steps to Self Employment was originally commissioned by Artquest in 2002. An earlier version which is more focused on London based artists and designers can be accessed via the Artquest website. The text and ideas were devised by Alison Branagan (©2002), a London based arts consultant and advisor.
Dada-South is grateful to Zoe Partington-Sollinger of Diablo Arts for her many expert contributions.
