Written by Michele Taylor Developed in partnership with Artswork these guidelines compliment the course of the same name, exploring equal opportunities within youth arts, focussing on practical ways barriers to participation can be removed, encouraging more opportunities for young people with physical or learning impairments to be involved in youth arts projects. With the change to the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) affecting many arts venues, projects and organisations these guidelines are essential for everyone.

Access All Areas: disability and youth arts training

Paddington Arts, London
9.45 am- 4 pm
This one day course, developed in partnership with Dada South is designed to encourage a broader exploration of equal opportunities within youth arts. Participants will develop an understanding of the importance of inclusive practice, through looking at political and cultural contexts, and exploring practical ways of ensuring youth arts projects and venues are genuinely inclusive to young disabled people. The course will leave participants feeling confident about their responsibilities, and inspired to engage in youth arts practice with young disabled people.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course, and a wealth of practical resources and a copy of the ‘Access All Areas: disability and youth arts' guidelines (RRP £7.50). Prices for the courses, which include lunch and refreshments, range from £150 to £110, with limited bursaries available. Please also remember that ENYAN members can request a 5% discount on all Artsplan publications and training!
